Edward (Ned) D. Fox
Chairman & CEO
As Chairman and CEO, and one of the founders of Vantage, Ned is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic plan, capital allocation and investment decisions, and has primary responsibility for management of relationships with capital partners and the investment community. Ned and Stuart founded Vantage to focus on redevelopment of best-in-class commercial properties in core markets in the Western United States. Ned is intimately involved in all aspects of Vantage’s current redevelopment projects. Ned’s hands-on approach and day-to-day involvement in the Company’s redevelopment projects is a distinguishing feature of Vantage’s approach to investment projects.
Ned has previously held the positions Chairman and CEO of Center Trust, Inc., a NYSE-listed real estate investment trust, Founding Principal and Chairman of CommonWealth Partners, and President and Senior Partner of Maguire Thomas Partners. At Center Trust, Ned was responsible for the operation and redevelopment of a portfolio of over 11 million square feet of retail space throughout the Western United States. As the Founding Chairman of CommonWealth Partners, Ned led CommonWealth’s alignment with CalPERS and establishing their reputation as one of CalPERS most successful office real estate investors—an alignment that continues to this day. As the President of Maguire Thomas Partners, he was instrumental in that Company’s development of many of the signature buildings in Los Angeles, including Wells Fargo Center, US Bank Tower (Library Tower and Square), Gas Company Tower, as well as other nationally recognized assets such as Colorado Center (MGM Plaza) in Santa Monica, Commerce Square in Philadelphia, and Solana in Dallas.
Ned is a graduate of the University of Southern California, from which he holds a BA and an MBA, and continues his involvement as the Co-Chairman of the Board of the USC School of Architecture. Ned also sits on the Board of Directors of Western Asset Mortgage Trust, and the Orthopaedic Institute for Children.
